I’ve always wanted to record an album with some of my favorite vocalists performing my original music so, that’s what we did. Songbook features Cécile McLorin Salvant, Jean Baylor, Catherine Russell, Kurt Elling, Anne Hampton Callaway, Ekep Nkwelli, Tyreek McDole and Kavita Shaw with Kiyoshi Kitagawa and Johnathan Blake holding down the trio.
